SWARM (noun): A large group of insects, especially bees or gnats, in flight. SWARM (verb): To form a flying group, especially in order to found a new colony. Scroll down for a list of beekeepers who would be happy to come out and remove your honeybee swarm. Please phone a beekeeper as soon as the swarm arrives. Swarms often do not remain in the area for longer than 24 hours. Keep in mind that honeybees swarm most often in May and June. Typical swarms are pictured on this page. If your swarm does not look like this, and you simply have honeybees flying around, you may have an established hive in an inopportune place. A bee swarm will never be in a wall. Some beekeepers do house removals and some do not. If you have bees flying around and are not sure if they are honeybees, a beekeeper in your area can help you identify them. |
